In addition to the Six (6) basic stats and the normal collection of sub stats that all D20 characters have, all super human characters have an extra stat that sets them apart from others. This is the POWER POINTS stat (abbreviated as PR). Power Points are the energy battery from which Metahuman are able to energize and use their various super powers. You will note in the description of the various super powers in Issue One, that many of them have a PR cost. A cost that MUST be spent to activate and maintain the powers. This cost is spent from the super beings Power Point stat. As long as she has power points she can use her powers. Should her power points ever drop to Zero (0) she will become fatigued and unable to call upon her powers until she rests and regains her power points.

 

Power Point Formula

STR + CON + DEX + INT = Power Point total.

Power points are regained at a rate of Three (3) per round of rest. If a characters has Zero (0) power points, they are fatigued and can not sue ANY of their powers until they rest and regain their Power Points.

 

Only super powered characters have power pints. Non powered characters, such as the self made man (issue two) dont have them as they dont need them.

 

The Burn:

Some super beings speak of a sensation known as the burn. That moment when they were able to push them selves past their normal limits and use their powers far past their breaking point.

A character may still attempt to use his powers after he has reached Zero (0) power points by burning Hit Points instead. The character will still behave as if fatigued but may attempt to still continue in a battle by paying the PR cost of his powers in Hit Points instead. Literally burning them selves out to keep going.

Obviously this is not recommended as the character could end up doing more damage to them selves with Power Burn then the actual combat would have caused.
